Monday, August 11, shortly before 19:00 hrs, a 22 year old male driver from Thurso suffered multiple lacerations following a motor vehicle accident which occurred on Des Carriers Road, in L'Ange-Gardien.

The police investigation reveals that shortly before the crash, the driver was partying with some friends at the Lafarge Quarry, located on Robitaille Road, and would have left with another young man. The 22 year old driver had been drinking and would have lost control of his vehicle, which then rolled over

Still according to the police investigation, the two (2) occupants would have fled to the woods before police arrived and would have walked alongside Highway 50 before being driven back to Thurso by a family member.

In this instance, the suspect(s) once again climbed on a platform which was already installed on the post in order to cut and take approximately thirty (30) meters of wire belonging to the Bell network.

The total value of the theft has not been determined, but it would be in the order of several thousands of dollars.

Anyone who would have been passing on Highway 105 in Chelsea, in the Gleneagle sector, between the hours of 23:30 and 01:00 and noticed a parked vehicle on the shoulder of the road, between Musie and Blackburn Roads, is asked to contact Sergeant-Detective Julie Bouthillier at 819-459-2422 – extension 3244 or via Info-crime at 1-800-711-1800.

THEFT OF COPPER WIRE

During the night of August 1st to 2nd, on Mill Road in Wakefield, thieves took several meters of telephone wiring, property of Bell.

The irony of this story is that the wire was already installed in the posts. Given the quantity of wire stolen and the work that had to be done by the thieves, it is quite obvious that they were on location for several minutes, even hours.

Therefore, anyone who would have noticed suspicious individuals or vehicles on Mill Road, Wakefield sector, between 22:00 hrs on August 1st and 08:00 hours on August 2nd is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 819-459-2422 – extension 3231. The estimated value of the stolen merchandise is more than $15,000.00.
